Scrapping UK Inheritance Tax?
Part of a Master Plan or Just Vote Chasing?
Inheritance Tax is a disliked tax. But aren’t they all?
A tax that brings in billions of pounds per year to the Treasury is not a tax to be scrapped lightly.
So why all of a sudden could it be scrapped?
Perhaps it is part of a “master plan” that could result in Mr Sunak retaining his place at 10 Downing Street when the next General Election takes place.
He certainly needs one.
The last few years have been depressing.
There has not been a lot to cheer about on our little island.
I’m not going to list all that’s gone wrong. That would be even more depressing, but suffice it to say I think we would all agree that whatever could go wrong did.
Maybe it’s a coincidence, but it all seemed to start with a certain Boris Johnson moving into 10 Downing Street.
Brexit was still raw, and not going at all as planned. Then Covid reared its head.
The mayhem of Covid will last a long time.
